(Carson City, NV) -- Secretary of State Ross Miller is reminding Nevadans that their last chance to register for the primary elections is July 12, 2008 (for mail-in registration) and July 22, 2008 (for in-person registration).
"With all the focus we've had on the caucuses and on the upcoming general election, a lot of people have overlooked the fact that we have a primary election August Twelfth," said Secretary Miller. "In many races and for many candidates, the primary is an important hurdle that will determine whether or not they make it onto the ballot for the general election. Every voter should participate in the primary election to ensure that the candidates of their choice will be viable when the general election comes."
Nevadans who are not sure of their registration status should visit the Secretary of State's Election Center website at http://www.silverstate08.com/. The site provides information on individuals' registration status, how and where to register, and polling locations. The site also offers information on candidates, initiatives, and other election-related resources.
