Early fireworks in Reno (UPDATED)

RENO-Although everyone got in on time and there weren't riots outside the doors, the Nevada Democratic Agenda has already gotten a bit off-track.

Former U.S. Sen. Richard Bryan, leading the convention, has encountered opposition against the consent agenda with rural Democrats arguing for individual voting for national electors instead of voting on the pre-approved elector list.

Speakers against the agenda included Rabbi Jonathan Freirich from Stateline, who is running for rural delegate.

Bryan ordered the provision for elector list voting off the agenda and received a vote by acclimation to pass the remainder of the agenda.

This, however, has not gone over well and another speaker has taken the microphone and called for a revote with a censure of Bryan.

Bryan is trying to get through the remainder of his business quickly, so that permanent chair, Washoe County Democratic chairman Chris Wicker can take over.

Wicker has taken over for Bryan, who has left the stage.

"Where's Charlie Waterman when we need him?" Bryan asked as he walked past the press table.

The convention is now debating a motion to reconsider debating the agenda one item at a time.

And then the speeches began...

Thanks for your comment, Vegas Watcher. The motion was not reconsidered and the speeches began, which I will be posting directly, many of them in their entirety. Check back soon.

No Riot = No Coverage

I guess once the fruitcakes stopped trying to cause a ruckus and the meeting got smoothly under way, without any riots, this story didn't appeal anymore?
